Well it's true what they say. Once you have a kid your parents don't think that you are the greatest anymore. It seems like their attention has permanently shifted from you to your child. We witnessed this phenomenon last week when my parents came for a visit. As we pulled up to the train station we saw them standing outside. My mom was waving as she usually does. Then we stopped the car and the first thing she said was, "Where's the kid????" She didn't say, "great to see you" or "how are you doing?" Nope, all she wanted was the kid. Then when she emailed us after she left she said, "I miss John already--and you and Dave too." yeah right.
Now, it would be wrong to say she completely ignored me. Far from it. She cooked, cleaned and babysat for us. My dad was here for a shorter amount of time and he helped as well. But boy, I guess things have changed! It is hard for an only child like myself to get used to :)
Below are some more pictures from the week. I don't have any of my dad because I forgot to take them! But soon we will have some professional pictures from the famous Tlohse photography and there you will see some full family shots.

Quality time with our favorite son. What a little blessing he is!
