One Month Old!

Well we have hit the one month milestone! I can't believe it has only been a month. It seems like ages ago that we were at the hospital for the delivery... I guess that is because so much has changed in our lives.
Above is a picture of John next to his green hippo, which was a gift from the Iverson family. I thought it would be a good measuring tool to see how much he grows. So at two months we will take another picture next to the hippo to see his progression.

We are grateful to the Lord for all His blessings this past month. A few examples include:

• Quick delivery
• Healthy baby and speedy recovery for me
• Amazingly generous family and friends who have showered us with gifts and delicious meals

The list could go on and on. At this point things are all going well. But we are aware that throughout his life there will be many ups and downs. Whether there are physical, emotional or any other kind of struggles in the future, we are prayerful that we (John included) will have the attitude of Job. He was a man who had an abundance, and then was stripped of everything he had. His response? "The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. May the name of the Lord be praised." (Job 1:21)
