Summer Vacation x 2

Here is the second post of our summer vacation. Scroll down if you didn't see the first post.

We took a day trip to Austria to see Salzburg, home of the Von Trapps! However, there is no sign of any cheesy Sound of Music souveniers or anything. I think you have to take a special tour if you want to see the specific sights.

Here I am at the top of the stairs where they sang the end of "Do Re Mi". The stair case is a lot shorter than it looks in the movie.

Dave going for a dip in a very cold lake on one of our hikes. What you don't see in this picture is the skinny-dipping German senior citizen to Dave's left, as well as the four elderly German tourists that laughed so hard when Dave gasped as he went under the water. One of them said to me "He's nuts!"

That's all from here... it's back to the daily routine until Grandma comes again at the end of the month. Auf Wiedersehen!
