Well we have started John on people food. His first taste was of mashed sweet potatoes that I made myself! My friend Michelle makes her own baby food and she encouraged me to give it a try. So I went to a great website called wholesomebabyfood.com and got some recipes and gave it a whirl. I am not saying that I am going to make all his food, but it was fun to try it out. You see, I love to cook in my free time so it is great to be able to use one of my hobbies to bond with my boy.
Gosh, this is totally becoming a blog about John. I hope that isn't boring for some of my friends. I was thinking of blogging on some non-kid topics like:
- my roses bloomed once and now they don't bloom anymore (just like last year)
- how I saw an advert (that is what they call advertisements here) for Coke and it said that it had no artificial flavors or preservatives and I thought, "What??!?" Isn't the whole thing artificial?
- I don't get much media in our third-culture here in the UK so when I heard from my mother-in-law that they were going to see a movie called "Wall-E" I thought it was a movie about Wall Street
- And finally, how I almost convinced Dave to see Mamma Mia the movie with me, but he backed out. Oh well, I'll go with my mum.

I lOVE the jumper photo and I also love hearing about John. No offense to you or Dave but he is probably more fun to hear about- JK! I love hearing about babies- it keeps me from wanting one right away and help me gather info.
I always love your posting Kate....they make me smile. Adam is still talking about "baby John" today. :)
Kate, I used that website to make my baby food in slovakia, and loved it. I got ice cube trays and made big batches of fruit and all that, and froze it, then took out whatever combination I wanted to feed them that day. it was so inexpensive, and so easy. Jarred baby food is nice to have though when you will be out for a while though, cause the frozen stuff can't stay out of the fridge for too long. Enjoy! :) (oh, and I'm trying to get an email out to people, but just haven't been able to yet, but we'll have ourselves another little one at the end of Jan!)
Glad to see he liked the homemade baby food - Evie hated the stuff I made her :)
