Isn't it interesting how most people get so excited when the Olympics take place? It seems like there is always something to talk about as there are stories of underdogs winning as well as major sports stars fulfilling their dreams. My favorite event is women's gymnastics. Everytime I watch them I think to myself, "I want to do that. I will start training now so I can be an Olympic gymnast." Even though I am 28 years old, it still magical to watch and it motivates me to be a better athlete. Maybe by the time the next summer Olympics rolls around I will give up my dream, but right now I want to be an Olympic gymnast when we move back to the States.
Every four years I look back and think where I was the last time I watched the summer games. Where were you? It was August of 2004 and I had just moved in with my cousin Mikey as I was preparing to leave my job and get married. Mikey was incredibly generous to let me stay with him for four months, and we had a good time together. It is so weird to think that I wasn't married and didn't have a son. Since the last Olympics I have lost my grandmother, gotten married, moved three times, had four different jobs, had a baby, developed a love for red peppers, and accepted the fact that I am not a good lasagna maker. Crazy stuff. It's a good way to look back and celebrate God's faithfulness.

Above are some pictures of our little Olympian who gets a gold medal in two areas: napping (when overtired like after church on Sunday) and teething (the two bottom ones are here!)
Go team USA and go team GB!
Cheers

Two Teeth! Connor is still waiting for teeth and it doesn't even look as if he is close. Four years ago during the olympics I had Owen!
