Even though Santa doesn't take part in our Christmas festivities, I think we all made out pretty well this year. John is obsessed with basketball so thankfully he received a basketball hoop this Christmas, as well as a ride-on plane. Dave got a nice framed poster of Africa for his study. I got Sarah Palin's book. Yes I wanted it so I was glad to get it. It is an interesting read but remind me to never run for Vice President. Doesn't sound like much fun. I didn't really want anything for Christmas since the house seemed like my Christmas present. My parents got us a Wii and we have really enjoyed it so far. A few nights ago Dave bowled a 212 and I got 192! If you have any game recommendations for the Wii, let us know.

Enjoying a White Christmas with my parents (white sand, that is). Truly I prefer warmer weather so I am not at all sad when it doesn't snow where I live at Christmas. In fact, I feel sorry for people when it snows at their home. I know most people enjoy it, I just really don't like being cold! But you know that if you have read my blog for any length of time.

After Christmas we had a great visit with Dave's sister Kristin and her three boys. Kristin has hosted us so many times so we were glad to finally return the favor. John loved having three other boys in the house. He played so well with them and shared all his toys really well. I can't wait to watch all these boys grow up together. Above is a picture from the Naval Aviation Museum. It is such a great place. If you are ever in Pensacola you have to check it out.

John and his cousin Connor. Connor is only three weeks older than John. We feel so blessed to have cousins close in age.
So it is January and I feel like we are really beginning our life in Pensacola. I am praying for friendships and I see God working in ways I hadn't anticipated so that is exciting.
Here is our verse for the month Deut 8:11- Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God.
We hope you have a great start to 2010!
Cheers

oh i'm with you girl about the cold! i'd rather be in shorts & a tshirt on christmas morning than see snow... :) glad things are settling for yall down there..can't believe how big your lil guy is!
So glad you had a wonderful Christmas and that you were able to share it with your parents! I feel the exact same way about snow- a white Christmas is no cause for celebration in my opinion! Happy January and all the best in 2010!
Kate- I got Sarah Palin's book for Christmas as well. I'm about half way through...what a good read. I have no idea how this woman accomplishes so much...I feel like a slacker! :) P.S. I don't like being cold either and it's been unseasonably FREEZING in Texas lately. I don't even want to leave the house!
I too received the Sarah Palin book. We could have had a book club if we were all back in the UK. ANd I too do not enjoy cold or snow. It has been super cold and snowy in DC this year. YUCK. The kids received a Wii and we all love the game House Party. Our house is in the construction process (the basement) so we love this game. It is also good because everyone plays at the same time so limited turn waiting!
