Here is Adam (with John) next to the hippo for his two month picture. I never ask John to get in the picture with Adam, but John loves to be next to him so I guess the hippo picture each month will always have the two boys.
Adam has done so well this past month. He weighs 12.1 pounds (he was 7 lbs 7 oz at birth) and he is currently sleeping from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. YAAAAAAAAAYYYYY. I still take a nap most every day when the boys nap, but Adam's sleeping through the night has been wonderful. He is a very good baby all around, and we are very thankful.

So I don't know about you but I am at a loss for things to do during the summer when it is too hot to go outside. In England we had a gym membership so we could use a great, kid-friendly indoor pool whenever we wanted, and in San Antonio we lived in an apartment so we could use that pool too. Here we can use the pool on base but they don't let you use floaties so we have to hold John the whole time. BOOO. And I don't feel comfortable bringing Adam out there to just sit in his carseat and melt, so we don't get to swim that often.
Yesterday when we were bored I just decided to call the local fire station and see if we could come by for a visit. They were very nice and said to come on over so we had a little field trip to the fire station! John loved it as he is really loving fire trucks and ambulances right now. We try to pray for them everytime we see them going somewhere. So it was great for him to sit in a fire truck and meet real firemen. We were very blessed by their hospitality.

Dave is currently at Home Depot getting all of our plywood so we can board up our house in case of a hurricane. Not very fun but at least we won't have to wait in the crazy lines 72 hours before a storm would hit.
Cheers!

We have a local pool by us that doesn't allow floaties, but they do allow swim vests, and I found that it helped Jackson learn the basics of swimming anyway. It was about $20, and I really like it - would your pool allow those? If so, might be a worthwhile purchase, that way at least Adam could be in the water with you while John was able to swim more on his own. They aren't official life vests, but actually called swim vests - I got ours at Target, Speedo brand.
Yay for you being so smart to call up the fire dept and go visit them! I would never have thought to do that :) How wonderful that John was able to do so much with the firemen. And BIG YAY for babies that sleep thru the night!
Love the Fire Department idea...look at you thinking like "Super Mom"!
I have to tell you that as soon as I read about you on your blog I thought to myself I have to become a follower and see how she deals with the moving. I look forward to reading about your adventures. I also move a lot and am worried sick that we are moving our kids around too much.
