Fall days

Well here in Florida it definitely does not feel like fall, but they tell us it is so we live in hope for the coming colder temperatures!

As I mentioned before, John is in to his first month in the "Young Fours" class at a local Christian preschool. I really, really like this school. Last year he went for one day a week and this year he goes for two. One of the days they do a chapel service for them and he loves it... he says his favorite part of school is chapel. I think the economy has slowed enrollment somewhat because there aren't too many kids in his class this year. In fact, the first day of the week he goes there are two teachers and six students, then on the second day there are two teachers and only five students! Talk about a good ratio!

Other than school, bible study, and bi-weekly prayer groups, we aren't too busy. So we spend a lot of afternoons (despite the heat) outside playing. Adam wants to go whatever John does so Dave is a trooper and helps Adam play baseball just like John. It kills my back so I can't hold him up like this, but Dave takes one for the team and always plays with him.

John is still the ladies man. There are several girls who love to play outside with him. They squeal with delight when he comes out.

We are also working on the big skill that will officially make him a big boy... getting him to stop sucking his fingers. We used the finger guard on him beginning in August and it worked well. I would say it got him 85% there. He no longer sucks on his fingers at any time of the day except when he is in his bed. However, when we removed the finger guard and try to get him to sleep on his own without sucking, he has a hard time. So, based on extremely popular reviews, we bought the product Mavala Stop and after using it last night, I think this will be the silver bullet. I don't want to say for sure yet, but I think this will do it. I will keep you posted!

Cheers!
