Turning A Corner

What a difference a few weeks makes! We have had behavior issues with John for the past year, and some real tough ones for the last six months. It has been a real test. But over the last few weeks, since about his birthday, he has changed so much. Much more obedient, incredibly more loving and affectionate, and he actually likes his brother now! Thank you, Lord!

He has really shown a lot more love to me as well. He has never been very demonstrative with his feelings, but now he tells me he loves me! He complements my mothering daily and even said he wants to marry me. I hope this doesn't come off as bragging.... it is meant to show that he never did these things before but now he does. Hopefully this isn't just a stage but a new heart.

Adam has really come into his own lately too. He has played with more toys and even plays well with us and John. Above is Adam assembling his own Air Show. John makes air shows all the time, and this was Adam's first one.

Very excited to show off his air show

Not so much a baby anymore! I feel like we are cruising right now, getting into a good grove now that Adam is down to one nap a day.

Other bits and bobs:
  • I have dramatically reduced my time on facebook. I was on it all the time for no reason, so I am much better off now! I am still on, but just a few times a week. So if you need to get ahold of me, email/calling is a better bet.
  • We plan to start John in soccer this spring
  • Most likely we will be moving the end of this year, so we are beginning to make our list of things to do to get the house ready to sell.
  • We have really enjoyed the mild weather. Hopefully it sticks around!
We hope your 2012 is starting off well.
Cheers!

Glad to hear your report. Sometimes being a mom is really tough, and it means so much when your kids can recognize that and you begin to see some payoff from all of the hardwork!
