Catching Up

Here's the latest:

The school year ended on May 30 for John. Here is a picture of him with his two teachers. He had a great year of preschool at a really nice Christian school we are fortunate to be so close to and that is so affordable here. He attended on Mondays and Thursdays; on Mondays there were six kids in the class, and on Thursdays there were only four so he got a lot of attention. Next year he will attend VPK (Voluntary Pre-K) provided free of charge by the state of Florida. The great think about VPK is that you can elect to do preschool anywhere... a school, a church, anywhere! And it is all paid for for every Florida four-year-old. So John will attend VPK at the same school he has attended with the same christian curriculum but we won't have to pay. Very cool.

Other happenings:
  • In case you didn't know, the Stanley Cup finals are going on, so Dave is very intensely cheering on his New Jersey Devils. The boys make hockey sticks out of their toy golf clubs and play hockey around the kitchen. So far nothing has gotten broken...
  •  Dave headed to DC a few weeks ago, and while he was gone, we all got sick (the stomach stuff). Not so fun. It reminded me of the time I got the stomach stuff when Dave was deployed and I was alone with John in England. We made it through but it wasn't fun!
  • We aren't headed anywhere this summer, and we aren't doing anything specific this summer... just trying to connect with friends and stay in the pool as much as possible. I feel like I get the question, "So what are you doing this summer?" often so there's your answer!! :)
  • The neighbors have an outside cat so it roams around a lot and ends up doing its business in our yard. Any tips to repel the cat?? It is so gross.

Here are the "flight suit boys" as they loved to be called. I am continuing to really cherish these days of stability and just being together, because we may have a move on the horizon pretty soon.

Cheers!
