This summer we have been enjoying swimming, playing with friends, and being at home a lot. John, like most 4-year-olds, loves to pretend. Lately he loves to pretend that he is Jesus. And now Adam tells us that he is God. At first we thought this was a little odd and we weren't sure we wanted them to pretend to be the Lord, however when we thought through it, we realized it was a good thing. First, John will do anything you tell him to do and he is very agreeable because he knows that Jesus is without sin, so if he is pretending to be Jesus then he has to be perfect too. But he demands that you call him Jesus so that is a little odd. But more importantly, it shows that he really thinks Jesus is cool and that he is listening to all we say when we talk about Him. John is remembering his memory verses a lot more these days, and he prays often throughout the day for the things on his heart. Very encouraging!

Dave is continuing his job search and we are excited for some opportunities that have presented themselves. I spoke with our realtor and we will be putting our house on the market most likely sometime in September. We appreciate your prayers for all these things! We went to get him some suits a few weeks ago and we had some sticker shock! Quite different from wearing an old flight suit to work.
We started some swim lessons with Adam this past week. I know he is a bit young but he really loves to swim so we figured we would take some lessons while we are still here with the teacher who worked so well with John.
We do have quite a lot of arguments these days between the boys when they are looking at a book together. They are always pointing to someone/something in the book and saying, "Me!" and often their "me" is the other's "me" which causes lots of fights and tears. Especially when they are looking at Blue Angel pictures.
The boys don't start school until the beginning of September so we have a good amount of summer left. Now that the Bachelorette is done we are enjoying our Friday evenings watching Downton Abbey. GREAT show... SO addicting!
Cheers!

I laughed when I heard how John pretends to be Jesus. That is great, especially the agreeable part! We were also Bachelorette fans, but are glad it was over in time for the Olympics.
