Disney 2012!

We decided to go out of the Air Force with a bang by taking a trip to Disney. We had been planning this for awhile, as I wanted to go to Disney before we A) lost the military discount and B) were out of reasonable driving distance. My parents were able to join us for the week and we were able to buy them the discounted tickets too. So the stage was set for a great week, and a great week it was. We had  nice weather, not too bad of crowds (though I can't believe the shear number of people in that area), and no one threw up so that is always a win!

As you can imagine, I can't give a full run-down of the trip, so I will give some photo highlights and some of the best things that happened. (Also, we had a great townhome that we stayed in. email me if you want the details, it was really great.)

The highlight of the trip was meeting the princesses, especially princess Aurora. I couldn't have imagined how much they would love her and be so enamored with her. Adam kept asking for her all the time. We stood in line three times to meet her, and it was worth it.

We had to stand in line to meet the princesses, but we just walked right in to see Mickey

Watching Malificent, Aurora, Prince Phillip, and Peter Pan in the "Dream Along with Mickey" show. We saw it twice!

In front of the castle. Thankful for beautiful weather!

Meeting Rapunzel

Trying to impress Aurora. She loved it when they showed her their muscles.

At Hollywood Studios John was able to train to be a Jedi. He even fought Darth Vader. He was very brave.

I would say the best part of the trip for the kids was all the interaction with the characters. Once we realized how much they loved the characters, we made a point to meet as many as we could. I was so impressed with how well the actors engaged with the kids, even in the parades and shows they always wave and try to make a point to connect with the kids. I really warmed my heart.

The best part for me was two things hat happened with John. He told me at the end of the week, "Mom, dreams really do come true at Disneyworld! They don't come true in Pensacola, but they do in Disneyworld!" I guess Disney is really doing a great job with their indoctrination!

Also, on the last day John and I were walking alone and he said, "Mom, can we stop here and dance?" Of course I said yes, and so there, in the middle of Disneyworld, he danced and serenaded me with the song from Sleeping Beauty, "Once Upon a Dream." So sweet.

I'd love to share Disney tips if you are going any time soon! Cheers!

I laughed out loud at your comment about no one throwing up! What fun memories! The AF is losing a wonderful family!
