Thankful

Well I haven't gotten any batteries for my camera so no pictures again. But here is just a short post of Thankfulness as we look back on the last three weeks since we left Pensacola.

I am thankful for:

• Family and friends who were so hospitable to let us stay at their homes on our drive up to DC. My friend Emily in North Carolina even left chocolates on our pillows and make me a batch of her homemade toffee.
• I got to reunite with many of my wonderful England buddies who are all stationed in NC. How refreshing it was to see them all again!
• We have been experiencing wonderful hospitality with the Bales' family (Emily's parents) here in Northern Virginia. They have moved out of the top floor of their home to let our family stay here until we get moved into our new townhome. They have given us their time, their food, their advice... and even their EZ pass to drive up to New Jersey for Thanksgiving.
• We drove up to see Dave's parents in NJ for a short Thanksgiving visit. No traffic on the way up or down. It is so great to be in driving distance of family.
• On Thanksgiving day I was not feeling the best from my surgery stuff, and Dave's mom Doreen did all the Thanksgiving work and clean-up. She and Dave's Dad really served us while we were there.
• We found a townhome in Alexandria and I think it will be a good home for us.
• We just found out we will be getting our stuff in about a week to week and a half which is great news. Originally we were told it may not be until after the 1st of the year.
• Eaten at Chipotle two times!
• There is a Disney outlet near here so I got some cheap gifts for the boys
• We feel that as we take each step forward, the Lord is encouraging us.

For those of you who have prayed for us as we take this step of faith, thank you! We appreciate your continued prayers as we get settled. It is hard to start over again with few friends here and being unfamiliar with the area. But we trust the God is good and we will see His goodness in the days ahead.
