More British Bits and Bobs

  • I always think it is interesting to read about the top baby names of the year. Here are some common names for boys and girls that I don't think are too common in the States:
    • Boys: Charlie, Alfie (either short for Alfred or just Alfie), Ollie, Finlay, Freddie
    • Girls: Isla (pronounced "eye-la"), Georgia or Georgette, Kitty

  • Ice cream truck songs- the ice cream truck is always around on the weekends. And it plays a mixture of "Happy Birthday" and screeching rendition of "What child is this?" (Christmas song)

  • Flu shots- because everyone here is on the National Health Service, they are giving the flu mist to all the kids at school. That is pretty convenient for me!

Natalie with her first toy stroller. She loves it!

It is blackberry season now, so all these wild blackberries are popping up in the hedges all around us. It is good but a bit dangerous at the same time because the kids will pick the other berries growing around too.

This ice cream might be the death of me. (sorry for the slanted photo, forgot to turn it)

Ha! The warning that came with my new rain cover for Natalie's stroller... don't be texting when an angry cloud comes to blow your stroller away!

Cheers
