Thankful

"Be joyful always. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in all circumstances. For this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

For some reason tonight I am in a really thankful mood. It is interesting because last night I was up for most of the night with a stomach virus. And some of you are familiar with our current family situation so that you know me being sick is not an easy thing. I was feeling so weak this morning and I wondered how I would ever make it through the day to care for John. Well as we know, the Lord provides. I am thankful for:

  • the stomach bug only lasting for 12 hours, and it was overnight so John was asleep for the time I was incapacitated
  • my friend Dori brought me some soup and bread, and my friend Emily provided encouragement to me as well
  • John was such a good boy for me all day. He was a joy to have around
When I awoke in the morning I thought how much easier it would be if I didn't have a young child to care for when I am really sick. But it is neat how God strengthened me and helped me to enjoy John so much on a day that initially I was not happy to be the primary caregiver.

I guess this blog post is more of a journal entry but hopefully it will cause someone else to give thanks to God in their trying circumstances. Cheers.

I am glad you are feeling better and got through the day. It is no fun being sick with a child!

I'm so glad that it didn't last long. I hope that you are recovering and John continues to be good for mommy! :) Tell him to give you a hug for me! :)

girl, I was JUST in that situation a couple weeks ago when Troy was at an airshow. (except my virus was during the day unfortunately) It's amazing how God blesses you to pull thru those tough times. You are a great Mommy! How much longer do you have til yall are a family again??

I'm so glad you're on the mend! I can totally relate since Sam spends long days at work and often can't come home or take the day off when I'm sick (and I've spent the past 20 weeks of this pregnancy puking so I can relate!).God is so good and will always provide!
