It's over! The second deployment in three years has come and is now behind us. Dave came back on Mother's Day evening which was a great mother's day present. He was delayed a few days and I have to say that the last week of waiting and wondering if he would be home pretty much put me over the edge. Taking care of a 16-month-old all by myself day and night had worn me thin. Thankfully I had several calls of encouragement from the States and the most important call came at 4:40 on Sunday when April called to say, "they are an hour early... get up to the squadron!" So I threw John in his flight suit, sped up to base and we eagerly awaited the return of our heros.
Many people (myself included) wondered what John would do when he saw Dave again. Would he walk to Dave? Would he cling to me? John gave us all a good laugh because I put him down right in front of Dave and said, "Go walk to Daddy!" but John walked right past him toward the jet as you can see in the picture above. John thought the planes were so cool he didn't care about any of the people in the planes.
A family complete! Thank you for all your prayers and support. What's next for us? A visit from my mom (yay!) followed by a week in Bavaria (double yay!) followed by a crazy last month in the UK before we move to Texas. CHEERS!
