We hope you had a great Thanksgiving. We have had a relaxing last couple of weeks. Dave took off from work for the full week before Thanksgiving because he had to attend a Masters' class each night and throughout the weekend. I loved having him home during the day! Then my Mom and Dad arrived to spend the holiday with us. It was a good visit and the highlight was that we took them out for a 40th anniversary dinner without the kids. We had the best table at The Fish House, it was outside overlooking the moon rise over the bay. Sometimes it can be so hard to decide what to give your parents but this dinner out was the best gift. Thanks to Gretchen and Emily for the idea!

John is slooooowly getting better with handling Adam
Out for a walk the day before Thanksgiving... look at what everyone is wearing! I love warm weather!!
Hitting the beach on Thanksgiving day
OH YEAH!
We all got in! A bit chilly but not bad at all once you got in. It is funny because I have told several people around here that we went into the water on Thanksgiving (people who live around here and know how warm it has been and how warm it was that day) and they look at me like I am crazy.
Bits and Bobs:
- I have never really been a Black Friday shopper but for some reason I decided to get online to check out any deals on dryers and I couldn't believe the deals! I got that really excited/anxious feeling of like, "are you kidding me??? I can get a dryer for this cheap?" so we got one. It made me want to go and see what other deals I could get. I was heading towards the mall after I dropped my parents off at the airport, but as soon as I got close I chickened out because of the crazy traffic. I did stop by Pier One and I got some nice necklaces (who know they had jewelry?) on sale to give to several people on my list. I was so excited about those two. I told Dave we should dress John in all black in celebration on Black Friday but he said no.
- I am practicing my cake-making skills for John's birthday and for a baby shower I am hosting. But my cakes are always flat! I am the flat cake lady. Dave said, "I think your brownies are taller than the cake." Thanks dude. No cake for you.
- I put on a jacket yesterday when I went to church, and I reached into the pocket and found some ear plugs. It made me smile because I realized those ear plugs were from when Dave got back from his second deployment. I must not have washed the jacket since then (hey we won't wear jackets all that much here) so it was a nice reminder of God's faithfulness.
- I love Christmas cards! Please send me one. I won't be sending them out this year but I want to get yours!
- I am so happy for the upcoming royal wedding. The day they got engaged I got on the computer and was looking at facebook and heard they were engaged. I turned on the TV to watch the coverage and Dave jumped out of bed to see what I was watching. I never watch TV in the mornings so he figured there was another terrorist attack. To his surprise I beamed, "they are engaged!!!" Ha!
