Here are some bits and bobs from April so far:
- While we were on the cruise we lost a few things: Dave's sport watch, Adam's sippy cup, John's flip flops, and.... my phone. Thankfully I just had a "dumb phone" so it wasn't the biggest deal in the world except I lost everyone's numbers. So if I don't call you for awhile, now you know why! I went to Verizon when we got home, and thankfully I was eligible for an upgrade. Dave said if I wanted to get an iphone I should do it, but honestly I didn't have any longing for a smart phone. I am glad we have one for our family (Dave got one for his b-day) but I am happy with an updated dumb phone.
- We had a very positive thing happen to Dave on the cruise.... he got a sunburn. A bad one. It peeled and is still peeling. You may wonder why this is a good thing. Well the guy thinks he is too cool for sunscreen and that he is immune from a sunburn. I used to ask him to apply it to my back, and after he was done (and he complained about having to do it) he washed his hands because he didn't want any on him!!! Well on the cruise he was shocked to learn that he could burn! He is now interested and even proactive in applying sunscreen. Yay! Let's hope this lasts.
- John is doing really well in his swim lessons. He takes them with three other girls so he gets a lot of cheers from the girls and their moms when he swims well. He loves it, of course. I really like swimming and so I hope he can continue to improve this summer.
- Speaking of summer, I am going to sign John up for a weekly gymnastics class at the local community college. They offer really reasonably priced classes. Last summer was a tough one for us with Adam being so little (too little to be out in the sun and hot weather) so I really felt trapped at home. I find myself dreading this summer because of how tough last summer was, but I have to remind myself that this year will be better, I will not be trapped, and we can actually enjoy this warm time of year.
- I gave John his second haircut and it didn't go so well. I learned to not give a haircut while in a hurry. Even though this one didn't turn out so well, I think I know what I did wrong and I will make it better the next time. I actually really enjoy doing it so I am not going to quit. Thankfully he is none the wiser.
- Adam is crawling now! He started crawling on the cruise. Nothing special to report about it, it is just fun to see him more independent.
- Easter is late this year! Oh well, gives me more time to eat more Cadbury Creme Eggs.

LOVED our chat today! I miss you so much, and it is always great to catch up :) And, I had no idea that you like Cadbury Creme Eggs!! I thought I was the only one...Chris hates them! I could eat them all day, they are my FAVE! AND, I love that you call your phone a "dumb" phone, makes me laugh every time I hear it! Miss you, sweet friend!
I think the sunscreen is a man thing, Jeff is the same way. I love that you call the phone a "bumb phone." I know you already have a phone but in the future if you want a smart phone and don't want to pay the price, Verizon sells refurbished phones for way less. I got mine for $25, looks new, and I didn't pay $150 for it in the store.
