Birthday morning. I bought Adam the birthday boy shirt at the BX for $2.37! Even though I got a good deal on it I made him wear it for a few days. I feel like it is waste to just buy a shirt you are only going to wear once.
Adam was blessed with many gifts from family. One of the hits was this car racing toy. It is so fun. I highly recommend it for a 1 or 2 year old gift!
The cake prior to its demise. I am not much of a decorator, all I care about is how it tastes. This system works for us now but as John gets older and asks for more complicated cakes, I am not sure what I will do.
And finally, the last picture with the hippo (or crocodile, whatever you want to call it). I am glad this is done because it was getting harder and harder to get them to sit still for it!
Today I went for Adam's 12 month check up and it went pretty well. He has lost some weight lately, I think mainly due to his illness and being weaned. So his weight is in the 20th percentile but his head (in true Murphy fashion) is in the 90th percentile. Ha! Another issue is that he does not like to stand. He is not pulling up on anything, not cruising and generally does not like to be on his feet. This is not normal for his age so we are having someone come to evaluate him and maybe get a referral for physical therapy. We'll see.
We are so thankful for a great baby boy. He is a joy! Thank you to all of our family and friends who have prayed for us and encouraged us over the last year. We did it!

What a handsome boy! I LOVE red velvet cake so I think it was a great choice :) Keep me posted how his evaluation goes. I'll be praying for answers and good news.
Happy Birthday to Adam (LOVE the name...wink, wink!). What a precious little guy. I hope the weaning goes better.
