What a weekend

We had a very busy weekend here... usually I like that but it was a bit overkill.

Ready for the NHL playoffs!
Friday we had a Hail/Farewell BBQ for Dave's squadron. All the military members and their families come out for an afternoon of eating and playing at the beach. It was a lot of fun and John was worn out! Some people stayed from noon to 6:30! I really love our squadron.

Saturday we had yard work and house clean-up, soccer game that Dave coached, and then a baby shower at my house for a dear friend. And guess who came to the baby shower? Amber (of "Rob and Amber" from Survivor and the Amazing Race)!! Dave and I really liked Rob and Amber when they were on Amazing Race several years ago. I had read that they lived in Pensacola now and I thought how cool it would be to see her. Well never did I expect that she would be friends with one of my friends (their kids are in the same preschool class) and that she would come to my house! I talked with her for awhile as she is very nice, and then I spilled the beans that I enjoyed watching her on the show and asked her a few questions about it. She was really gracious and told me some details which was fun. I do admit to doing a bit of extra cleaning knowning she was coming :)

Sunday was a special church service, which was nice but a bit long for a very wiggly four-year-old who insists on dancing to every hymn (in order to draw attention to himself). Followed by a going away party for some friends at the beach, followed by another church service! In there somewhere was Dave's hockey game. He loves the Devils!

We aren't usually this busy, so don't think we are super popular. Things should be slower for awhile :)

Just two weeks until Adam is 2! I can't believe it.

Cheers!
