Update from Alexandria

Again, no pictures as we can't find the camera cord. But thankfully, tomorrow we will have our household goods! We moved in here on December 1st and tommorrow, our 8th wedding anniversary, we will finally get our stuff. The boys have been great with just camping out, and really Dave and I have been too. I mean 98% of the world lives way worse off than we do by camping in our townhome, so I can't complain.

Here are a few highlights:
  • We moved into a good-sized townhome in Alexandria, with a great commute to work for Dave. It also fairly close to DC so we go in there a lot without much trouble.
  • Since our home wasn't selling, our realtor helped find us a renter for our home. While it isn't our first choice, we will trust God and hope it works out okay.
  • Friendly people. Coming to a big city I really expected everyone to be a bit gruff, but I have found the opposite to be true. Everyone has been really friendly, even in traffic!
  • We found a preschool for John to attend. He will start after the new year. And it is only 3 days a week which is what I wanted.
  • Reconnecting with old friends has been great. One of the best perks of being in the military.
  • I got my stent out! I met with a new urologist who removed the stent that had been placed in my ureter during surgery 6 weeks ago. I was so glad to get it out. I feel like I can close that chapter of my life now.
  • We are loving all the green space around our townhome. There is a park just a few hundred feet away, and lots of paths through the forest that we walk to.
More later. Merry Christmas everyone!
