British strawberries! They are everywhere. But I do have to say I am dissapointed as I thought they would be pretty cheap, but I haven't found them to be too cheap, even from the farm shops. I think there are better deals at costco than over here :)
I have attempted to grow some strawberries, and they are growing well but we have some sort of unwelcome visitor that grabs them right before i would pick them. I am doubling my efforts to cover them in netting in hopes that we can eat the fruits of our labor. Above is one I found today that was overlooked by the unwelcome visitor and it was perfect. Perfectly red and so very sweet. I cut it into three parts (one for me and one for each boy, Dave wasn't home) and we savored it. They are really good when they are just picked!
We have had so many generous friends give us some nice summer dresses for Natalie. The problem is that it is hardly ever warm enough (in my opinion) to wear sleeveless dresses. The other day it was like 75 and humid which is very rare, so I quickly picked out this gem for Natalie to wear for a few hours outside. I took like 400 pictures of her in case we don't get to wear it again for awhile.
Above is a picture of the pool at the boys' school. They have swim lessons twice a week now during the school day. Can you imagine Adam's reception teachers getting all 29 of them changed, in the pool, and then changed back again? Crazy. After school we are able to pay and use the pool for an hour so we did that this Thursday. The pool is heated but the air temp is still cool. I know I would be chilly but they seem to love it. I told Dave that back in DC my threshold was about 87 degrees; if it was warmer than that we would swim but cooler than that, we wouldn't as the pool on base felt too cold. Well if that was my threshold here we would never ever swim.
