The End x 2

Oh man what a crazy month this has been so far. There are so many significant things that are happening and I'd like to draw attention to two of them.

First, next Monday I will have to say goodbye to one of my best friends here in Britain. That's right, another goodbye to another good friend. I first met Tara back in Pensacola when Dave and I were first married. She and Morgan were just dating at the time, but I could tell she was a special lady. Awhile later Tara and Morgan were married and we met up with them again in North Carolina. They headed out to England about 6 months before us and they helped make our transition over here so much easier. I could write pages and pages about all the things Tara as done for me and how she is just a ray of sunshine wherever she goes. She loves the Lord wholeheartedly, she loves her husband, her family and basically anyone who comes in her path. England is a dark place in the winter, and it will feel ever darker after Tara leaves. One thing that Tara and I both love about England is the pick-n-mix candy from Woolworths. It seems fitting that today they announced that Woolworths is going out of business just in time for Tara to leave so I don't have to get pick-n-mix by myself. Tara we will miss you! You are in incredible friend who has made a permanent impact in my life.
The second ending that I am currently experiencing is an end to my coursework for my Masters degree! That's right, yesterday I submitted my last final for my last class. I am done with my courses, however I still have to complete my internship this spring and then I will graduate in May. But being done with my 10 classes is a huge hurdle. I am so grateful for Dave, my family, friends and everyone who has supported me through all this craziness. I will miss the mental stimulation, that is for sure. My mom has always said that your graduate work isn't as hard as your undergraduate work because your graduate work is in a field that you are really interested in so it makes the work more enjoyable. This is the truth! So today when John was napping I felt really out of place. I am used to doing coursework when he naps so now I am like, "what do I do?" I guess I have to start cleaning this house since I don't have an excuse anymore! Oh yeah I wanted to make home made marshmallows. I need to get on that.

Kelly, Holly and Abi you guys are next!! Keep up the good work. School will be over before you know it. Then we will all be highpowered businesswomen who can command astronomical salaries... or housewives in England who meet for coffee. Either way we will have our degrees and no one can take that from us. Cheers!

So proud of you! It is really strange the emptiness of a usually hectic/full schedule juggling a baby and classes - then, half of that craziness just goes away overnight it seems. It gets better, and I've found, requires more discipline for me to narrow down my interests and focus my attention myself rather than having coursework do most of that for me. Anyway, what a HUGE accomplishment and a day for celebrating in your family!

Let me know how the homemade marshmallows work out.

I went to a cookie swap last week and I thought of you, and how fun it would be to swap recipes and catch up over coffee/tea.

Love from afar,
Deonna
