We are trying to take advantage of all that this big city has to offer. After living in a small town (albeit very close to a big town), it is nice to be near the action. Today we went to the Riverwalk and the San Antonio children's museum. John enjoyed both activities. Above is a picture of him operating the front loader construction truck! Very exciting.

Here is John with his very own shopping cart in the kid's supermarket at the museum. I tried to load his cart with healthy items but all he wanted to do was run through the market with the cart. Below is a picture of him when I tried to take the cart away. Not happy. After this incident we need to give him a time out. So Dave took him and sat him in a corner of the museum by himself for a few minutes. An employee came out of one of the doors near him and said, "Oh, it looks like you needed a time out." Yes ma'am he did.

Things are coming together here for us. We are accepting the heat and have figured out several indoor activities (including walking circles around the local mall) to keep busy while we can't be outside. We are thankful for several friends here that we have known from different bases who we are able to reconnect with. We are also thankful for an apartment that feels more spacious that our British house! But mostly we are thankful that God has promised to never leave us and always guide us, no matter where we are stationed. Psalm 139 says "if I raise on the wings of the dawn and settle on the far side of the sea, even there You hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast." We are grateful for that comfort during this time of transition. Cheers!

I'm glad to hear you're settling in to life in San Antonio! John's little temper photo is precious. We have had more than a few of those tantrums in our house lately too...life is so dramatic when you're 1 1/2...ha ha! You should definitely make a trip to the outlet malls in San Marcos, between San Antonio and Austin. We shopped 'til we dropped when we went last year! Cheers!
