Prayer Group

Well hello! We find ourselves at the end of January and so far, the weather has been great here and we do say that we love a Florida winter. Summer... well not so much but winter is wonderful down here. The other day John asked me when we could go swimming in a pool on base and I said we would go in the summer when it was hot, and he asked, "What is hot?" It made me laugh because I thought, in a few months he will really know what hot is and he won't be able to forget it. But for now, we will enjoy these nice days.

Here is John with his jet pack that he made at preschool. He was so excited about it.

In other news, my friend Rebecka and I have started a prayer group for our squadron. We are meeting every other Monday for about an hour to just pray for a specific issue (it changes from week to week) and then for requests from each person in the group. We have had our first meeting and it went really well. We have had a ton of interest so we are having to get babysitters to come and watch the kids during the time. Very cool. I am really excited about this and I hope that we grow closer and more in love with the Lord (and each other) during this time.

We went out to dinner tonight at Panera (thanks mom!) and just looking at Adam in his highchair made me feel like we are really a family of four. I am very thankful. Here is other Adam tidbits: he loves to eat finger foods now (cheerios, pear pieces, etc), has five teeth and two more about to break though this week, no where near crawling (I am okay with that, makes my life easier) and is generally a happy baby. He still will not take a bottle so we are chained to one another :) We have given up trying at this point, and we are now pushing a sippy cup in hopes that he takes to it.

I am still in "hip purgatory" as there is no progress with my hip. My physical therapists are great, but they are baffled and there is nothing they have really been able to do to help. The tens unit they gave me (sends electronic pulses to ease the pain) was not effective so that was a bit of a mystery as well. I go see the actual doctor on Presidents Day so hopefully he will have some suggestions. If not I guess I have to wait until I wean Adam to get on the anti-inflammatories and see if they will help. Thank you to everyone who has asked about it. I kind of don't like talking about it so that is why I write about it here. Thank you for your prayers and interest.

By the way, there is a great website from focus on the family called "Plugged In Online" that gives Christian movie reviews of new releases as well as movies that have been out for a long time. it is a good resource for me as I am pretty sensitive when it comes to movies... I really don't like a lot of violence or sensuality in movies. So these reviews are great so that i know what I am getting into. I really recommend it. I do have to confess that it does not give good reviews to the Bachelor/Bachelorette, but I still get sucked into those shows!! Maybe it is because I don't see anything that it doesn't bother me as much? I don't know, I just feel like I have to confess that before I watch it again on Monday (although we do turn it off halfway through because it gets lame).

Cheers!

Yay about your prayer group! And yay for Adam eating table food-that is always fun. Good luck with the sippy cup and with your hip :)
