Cousins!

This past week Dave's sister Kristin, her husband Chris, and their four boys all came to our house for the day. We had a great time catching up with them and John loved playing with his cousins. Noah is 7 (almost 8!), Owen is six, Connor is 3 (just three weeks older than John) and Kyle is 6 months old. We missed the Holcombs but had a great time together. We are blessed to live within driving distance of them.

Kyle and Adam... sure to be best buds some day.

Some other bits and bobs:
  • Adam now has eight teeth! He is still a champion nurser... this is both good and bad.
  • Things have been better over the last two weeks with John's behavior toward Adam. In fact, today on a bike ride John said (out of the blue), "I love you Adam!" Thanks for your prayers everyone!
  • John loves American Idol, and he really loves Jennifer Lopez. He talks about her all the time. He even knows the words to her song "Jenny from the Block".... who taught him that??? :)
  • Speaking of American Idol, I really think it is bad that they allow kids under 18 to compete. I feel like it discourages them from finishing school. Sorry to be a party pooper.
  • I have decided to forgo the pricey salon haircuts and just get my haircut at Cuts R Us or Fantastic Sam's. It seemed like everytime I went to a salon, I would pay $40 or so for a mediocre haircut. Everytime. So I decided it would be better to pay $13 for a mediocre haircut than $40. And you know what? I like my cut this time! I love little ways to save money.
  • I am still trying to get up the guts to paint my bathrooms. We are getting new tile installed in them this week so maybe that will motivate me. I just feel like it is going to look like I painted it and be a shoddy job instead of looking nice. Plus I am afraid i will be constantly interrupted by the kids.
  • Lastly (but not least), Libya and the Middle East is heavy on my heart. What an unprecedented time for this region. I am praying for peace, stability and democracy, and eventually an open door to the gospel. What pain and oppression these people have endured on so many levels.

Here is a picture of Adam as he tries to smile for  the camera. He really does pose when we pull it out! How funny.

Cheers!
