Trip Up North

Last week we had the privilege of heading up to New Jersey to visit Dave's family, as well as attend my cousin Brendan's wedding and see my parents. It was a really, really good time. As those of you with young children know, some of the best vacations are when you can go to family because of all the help you receive! This trip was no different. We never cooked, cleaned or did any laundry the whole trip. We ate a lot of great food (Chipotle, choc chip cookies). And we were blessed to be around both sets of parents.

There is so much to say so I will just summarize with a few pictures and a few highlights:

Dave and John prior to attending a Yankees home game. It was very hot that day so they didn't make it through the whole game, but it was a fun first for John.

John still has a fear of dogs, but he did well around Dave's parent's dog, Sandy. She really is the best dog ever.

 Dave loves his mommy!

We took a day trip into NYC. It was only 80 degrees that day! What a nice day to go in the city! You know I love me some NYC.

In NYC we ate our lunch across from a battleship full of Navy planes. I joked that we came to NYC and we see all the Navy planes we see in Pensacola each day :). But after that Dave's dad took me on a neat bike ride all down the side of Manhattan. So cool.

Eating ice cream

Dinner with both sets of grandparents! What a special night for us.

Lots of attempts to get a good picture. I like this one since Doreen and my mom seem to be having a conversation.

 My dad and Adam

At my cousin Brendan's wedding with my parents (more on this in another blog post)

Not the best family shot but look at Adam's face! Isn't he so cute??? I really like this picture of him.

Just before we left Mima and Papa's house. What a great time.

Other highlights include:
  • Lots of chocolate chip cookies
  • Northeast summer weather (i.e.- we could be outside during the day!)
  • Reconnecting with lots of family
  • A nice hike
  • Great company
Thank you Dick and Doreen for a great visit!
