Anyway, the big news around here is that we have a birthday girl! Natalie turned one on January 17th. We had a nice day celebrating her... it mainly involved staying home so I didn't have to throw her in the car 80 times a day! We also had our friends the Kastner's over for dinner... lovely company from our B-course days in North Carolina.
Here's our cutie on her birthday. She truly is "sugar and spice and everything nice." As much as the day was about her, I (selfishly) think it is a bit about me (and our family in general) because we survived!!! The first year is tough and we made it! Thank you Lord. I say that a bit jokingly and a bit seriously, as a friend of a friend had a baby girl two weeks after Natalie was born and she only lived for two weeks. So we have a lot to be thankful for and can't take life for granted.
As for me, I just stopped nursing the day after her birthday so I am a bit hormonal... watch out. Especially if I haven't gotten any of my tasks done that day you may not want to mess with me.
We have been attending a local playgroup run by our village church. It is mainly directed at preschoolers 2-3 years old, but Natalie is welcome. While they do their craft, she just pushes chairs all over the floor. She is not walking yet on her own, and we would have thought she would have been walking now based on how fast she crawled, but it will happen soon enough.
Tonight is a big night here in Cambridge. The local soccer team called Cambridge United is playing Manchester United... almost like the Yankees playing a Single A ball team. The towns around here are really excited. I think it is so cool that they have these opportunities... it is like the American dream! Except we are in Britain :)
Thank you for your prayers for Adam. Things seem to be slowly improving. We'll see how next week goes.
Cheers!

Way to go Mom on the first year and the nursing! That's a big job. Glad school going better for Adam.
