Natalie loves watching John play soccer in the backyard. She could stand there for awhile just watching him run around. He has joined the village soccer team, though only for practices as they team was already full when we arrived. But I think that is good for him as it gets him used to the sport and gives him more skills, as they mainly just play soccer during recess at school. There is no playground equipment (seems to be pretty standard for UK schools) so you either just play soccer or run around.
Below is a picture of our village church. I think it dates back to the 12th century. It is surrounded by a small graveyard with tombstones so old you can't read any inscription, alongside soldiers and community members who have just recently died. The nice thing about the church is that it is open during the day so you can go in, have a look around and pray, all without bothering anyone else.
On a completely different note, due to the Christmas holidays there was no trash pick up or recycling pick up for 3 weeks. Yes you read that right, 3 weeks!! So here is our trash bin (picture taken five days ago) going strong with one week to go. Now we have about 5 bags outside of it and we still have another few days until it is picked up. I understand wanting to give the workers time off at the holidays, but it is kind of crazy when you have no where to put your rubbish!
Cheers!
