Faithful

For most of us, when we think of April 15 we think of tax day. But April 15 is also the date the late Corrie Ten Boom was born (and she died on the same date too). Corrie Ten Boom wrote the amazing book called "The Hiding Place." It is the true story of a humble Dutch Christian family who hid Jews during WWII. On the fateful day when the Ten Boom house was raided by the Gestapo, the Jews in the hiding place (see picture below) were safe, and the Ten Boom family was taken to prison.

Dave is reading The Hiding Place right now. As we were discussing the text, we talked about if you had to describe the Ten Boom family in one word, it would be "faithful." They were faithful to serve the Lord wherever they were, whether that be in their quaint Dutch home, or in Ravensbruck concentration camp. They loved the people around them dearly, and they were always serving others.

It made us think, how faithful are we? When we leave England, can we honestly look back and say we were faithful to serve our family, our friends here, our local church, our neighbors and anyone else God brought into our path? I highly recommend reading the Hiding Place. The story of this humble, God-fearing family will change your life.

Okay I am off my soap box now :)

Me inside the real "hiding place." So amazing to see it. We visited the Netherlands last fall.

I am not sure how well you can read this but this is the plaque outside the Ten Boom house.

1 Peter 4:10- Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.

Cheers!
